About the Adductors

Your adductors bring your legs together and help stabilize your hips. They work opposite to your abductors. When you squeeze your legs together, your adductors are working.

  • Adductor Magnus: The largest and strongest adductor. It helps bring your thigh toward the midline and rotate it.
  • Adductor Longus: A long, triangular muscle that helps flex and rotate your thigh.
  • Adductor Brevis: A shorter muscle that works with the other adductors to move your thigh.
  • Gracilis: The only adductor that crosses both your hip and knee joints. It helps flex your knee and rotate your leg.
