The Tate Press is an isolation strength exercise performed with dumbbells. It primarily targets the triceps, with the chest and shoulders working as secondary muscles. Suitable for intermediate lifters.

Instructions

  1. Lie on a flat bench holding a dumbbell in each hand above your chest.
  2. Start with your arms extended, palms facing your feet.
  3. Lower the dumbbells toward your chest by bending your elbows outward.
  4. The dumbbells should come down to touch your chest near your sternum.
  5. Press the weights back up by extending your elbows.
